Sewing: Revel Topper

The Revel Topper by Sew House Seven (Version A) is the perfect layer to add to your fall wardrobe. This class is for anyone who has taken School of Sewing class or has sewing basics down and wants to take their skills to the next level by making a piece of clothing.

The Revel Topper is a simple boxy top that is just long enough to tuck into a high to mid-rise bottom. Its unique feature is the shawl collar and front yoke facing. 

Version A: Features angled bust darts, however, the fit is somewhat loose through the bust and waist. The shoulders extend to become short sleeves with deep facings.

In this class, you will learn how to work with a commercial sewing pattern to create a top with professional finishing inside and out. There's so much to learn in just one basic top! 

We will follow this schedule to complete the project:

October 31 (tracing & cutting pattern) 

November 7 (darts & front facing)

November 14 (shawl collar, shoulder & neck french seams)

November 21 (armhole facings, side seams & hem)

Please come to class with your fabric washed, dried, and ironed.

Supplies Needed: Fabric and supplies per pattern, 2 yards pattern tracing cloth, basic sewing kit (pins, scissors, seam ripper, thread, and marking pen) If you are using one of our machines, please purchase a bobbin from us to ensure it fits!

Due to the limited enrollment of our classes, we do not offer refunds on classes you register for but are unable to attend. If you register for a class and can’t come, you must call us 72 hours* in advance of the first meeting to get a credit for another class. Otherwise, we are unable to offer refunds, credit or exchanges—you can, however, spread some joy and send a friend in your place.
