In this one session class you will learn to use a darning loom to darn woven patches over holes in knitted or woven items. Using darning thread or leftover yarn, this is a great way to use up those end of skein remnants. You will learn to weave decorative patterns of beautiful visible mending. Learn to use different weaving patterns to cover holes in knitted socks, sweaters, jeans, kitchen towels, etc. Design your visible mending to match or decoratively contrast the item you are mending with multicolored plaids & stripes, etc. Let’s show some loving care to those well used items so we can continue using them for years to come.
Supplies Needed: Darning loom (available to purchase at Home Ec. or bring your own if you already have one), darning thread or yarn remnants (using same weight or smaller weight yarn to mend knitted items) it’s fun to use a pre designed color palette of yarns together in a design, items you will be mending, dull embroidery needle if mending knits & not dull needle if mending fabric items (you want your needle to be at least as long as the area you are mending is wide, longer is helpful)

Cancellation Policy
Due to the limited enrollment of our classes, we do not offer refunds on classes but can offer a credit for a future class if you cancel within 72 hours of the start of class. If you register for a class and can’t come, you must call us 72 hours* in advance in order to get a credit for another class. Otherwise we are unable to offer refunds, credit or exchanges—you can, however, spread some joy and send a friend in your place.
