A glimpse into a verdant realm where the habitants have gathered for a celebration, Macy’s Day Parade style. This diorama has been sculpted, sewn, cast, painted, doodled, wrapped and cut by the Industrial Glitter duo, Kelly Moore and Amber Morris.

Rollergirls Fanny Pack

Join the Old Capitol City Roller Girls on May 7th at 7pm for a craft night at Home Ec. We’ll be making fashionable hip packs with cool, limited edition OCCRG designs. Get ready to sew and have lots of fun. The cost is $30 dollars per person + supplies, and space is limited. Questions?

This sweet and flattering dress features a cut-out scoop neckline, an above-the-knee hemline, pockets, and shirring in the back for an easy, comfortable fit. No zippers or closures are needed, making it a wonderful project for the intermediate sewist! The pattern can be made without sleeves, with a basic scoop neckline, as a tunic, or with a longer skirt to achieve a large number of different looks. You’ll be thrilled with all of the variations you can create with this fantastic pattern!

Make this adorable quilt block in only a few hours with quilter, Riann Garbett. You will learn how to cut and piece this quilt block, quickly and accurately. You should finish your first block in class. This is a 24″ block and could be made into a throw pillow, baby blanket or you can make 8 more blocks to finish a full sized quilt. All of these options and instructions will be discussed in class.

Learn how to neatly insert a zipper and make a zipper pouch using the adorable Color Block Pouch pattern by V and Co. We love them and know you will too! This pattern is perfect for combining all of your favorite fabrics and comes in three sizes. This is a great class for beginners.

Quilt Block of the Month: Wonky Log Cabin

Join us once or every month for the new Block of the Month series.

This month we will do the wonky log cabin block! You will make a single block that can be used by itself in the BOM sampler, or for a larger quilt top if you make more later.

Participants MUST have a copy of “Block Party: The Modern Quilting Bee” by Carlton and Lejneiks, which is available through the shop.

Knit Bobbles

Thursday, May 29, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

$15 + supplies

If you know how to cast on, knit and purl, you can learn to knit a variety of bobbles. Bobbles can be used in hats, sweaters and other accessories to add a little flair to your knits. In class we will work on a bobble sampler that can become a potholder or a felted trivet. Supplies needed are worsted weight (wool, if you plan to felt) yarn and US 6-8 needles.
