Each student will make their own individual dress using a combination of their shirts from home and vintage fabrics, buttons and trims.  We will use the machines, our hands, and our creative eyes to work on a wearable masterpiece.  Each student is encouraged to bring any special unique fiber scraps, buttons, and other items they would like to add to their piece.

In this class each child will make their own doll that looks just like them!  Then each child will make 2 skirts, one for them and one for their new doll.  We will use the sewing machines, hand stitching, buttons, recycled and vintage materials in this class.  If skirts aren’t your thing, we can make matching vests. Once we finish your skirts and doll the rest of the summer can be spent making tiny doll accessories!

Four Fridays.  Three great projects.  Spend Friday mornings knitting with friends at Home Ec.  We will knit a pair of fingerless mitts, a handy wallet and knit (then felt) a bouncy ball.

KIDS PRINTING CAMP (Ages 8 & up)

June 20, 21, 22, 1 – 3 p.m.

Learn various types of printing in this three-day camp.  Take your drawings and create screens that can be printed onto anything.   Print with cut stencils and found objects as well as hand made stamps designed by you! We will be printing on t-shirts, bags, cloth and paper.

KIDS SEWING: SKETCHBOOK BAG (Ages 8 & up)

Make a bag to keep your sketchbook and pencils organized while you are on the go!  This bag has plenty of room on the inside to keep a few sketchbooks and coloring books and on the outside is a pocket to hold pencils, colored pencils and crayons.  This bag is perfect for summer roadtrips.

DESIGN YOUR OWN BEAN BAG GAME (Ages 6 – 10)

Make your own sidewalk game!  Everyone will decorate, machine sew and stuff two sets of bean bags and design their own target mat out of chalkcloth to play a tossing game.

Sew a handy waterproof, oilcloth, zipper pouch for your bike that will hang right from the handlebars.

Dye fabric, yarn and roving!  Sew a bag or notebook cover with the fabric you dye and create needle felted drawings and creatures using your dyed yarn and roving.

Use your imagination to turn ordinary wooden spoons into people, dinosaurs, and creatures from outer space…you imagine it and use paint, fabric, yarn, buttons, thread etc to make it happen!
