Kool-aid Dyeing

Dye animal fiber yarns with kool-aid!  Learn to hand paint the yarn as well as how to dye larger ‘batches” of yarn.  We will provide the Kool-Aid and various types of yarn to experiment on,  you provide a skein of your favorite wool yarn.

$30 and a skein of natural colored wool yarn

Learn to Knit

Wednesdays, September 8, 15 & 22 (three-part class)

Start with the basics and learn to cast on, knit, purl, bind off and read a simple pattern or take your knitting to the next level with support on any project you choose, like a hat, pair of socks, sweater- you name it.

Intro to Needle Felting

Use a needle to transform dyed and natural wool into flowers and animals.    Your creations can be used as pins, hair accessories and decoration. Because the needles used are very sharp, kids should be at least 8 and accompanied by an adult.

Gujarati Embroidery

Guest Instructor Wetherill Winder

Learn a woven embroidery technique inspired from the state of Gujarat in India.   This class will cover how to create your own designs, first on graph paper and then on cloth with a needle and two colors of embroidery floss. Embellish your clothes and accessories!

Let your Craft be KNOWN! Create your very own Eco-Friendly Groucho Marx-esque Graffiti using a Gocco Printer, eco-friendly adhesive and recycled paper. This is a craft from a great book called The Guerilla Art Kit by Kerri Smith. We will be making mustaches, glasses and big noses. Pictures will be provided or draw your own. Class size limited to four lucky students.
$35, all materials included
